Simon Hudson is a singer-songwriter whose highly original music weaves a captivating blend of world, roots and folk, with influences including Carlinhos Brown, The Cat Empire, Jose Gonzalez, Neil Finn, and Paul Simon. Based in Melbourne, Australia, he’s toured throughout Europe, Latin America and Australia.
His new EP 'Islands' launched globally (Jun 2020) on label Songs and Whispers (Germany), distributed by Broken Silence (Germany) and published through (...) Show more Sentric Music (UK). The first single 'Travelling Salesman' (Apr 2020) was released alongside a film clip. It’s an ode to the life of the touring musician - when you visit so many places with guitar and suitcase in hand, the hardest place to find is home. The second single is a guaranteed dancefloor favourite, the Brazilian song 'Magalenha' (May 2020) about a woman dancing the summer day away.
Simon’s newest clips are ‘Magalenha Iso Collab’ (>50K FB views) and 'Your Boat' (Mar 2020), originally taken from Simon’s debut EP. His crowd-funded debut album 'Earthman' was launched globally (Aug 2016) on German label Songs and Whispers, including three singles. 'Earthman' was created during periods where Simon was examining his place in the world. He sees similarities between all people – because we are a global species. Everyone can find something potent and true in these songs, dealing with love, friendship, hope, dedication and tenderness.
His debut EP 'Time And Space' (2012) was a remarkable showcase of skilled songwriting, addictive roots rhythms and honest lyricism. His five international tours from 2014-2019 have included European summer festival appearances, German national radio, Cuban national TV, and pan- American radio.
